About Me
Tabitha hails from small town Mishawaka, Indiana. Growing up in a small town meant she did everything that there was to do: from getting a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwando, to sports like basketball and volleyball, and even learning tap, ballet, and jazz. Her love of learning and exploring didn’t stop there because when she found the stage and music, it was like Tabitha found her purpose. Even though Tabitha was academically inclined being the valedictorian in both high school and college, the arts was always her calling. She learned how to play violin in 4th grade and even took private lessons to hone her craft. She ascended to first chair concertmaster in her freshmen year even overcoming the more experienced seniors. Tabitha loves and enjoys her craft so much that others can see it as well, even if she isn’t the best at talking about herself. It is just that she has done so much in life so far, that where do you start in a conversation.
In high school and college she found stage theatre, and nothing has been the same. She didn’t even want to audition. Tabitha had no formal singing or acting training, but her mom said she do it because she was, “loud and confident”. Like any actor’s first audition she bombed it, but if it wasn’t for the director she might have never continued on this path. Her director pulled her aside and told her that she wouldn’t be in this play, but to come back for the spring musical because I had a gift for singing. Giving that courage, Tabitha came back for the musical and got a part in the ensemble. Being a part of a collorabrative experience with so many moving parts was mind-blowing. The tech crew, the other actors, and of course the audience made all the late night rehearsals worth it. Nothing is as electrifying as walking onto the stage during a performance with a live audience and feeling all the warm energy in the room.
This experience made Tabitha continue with theatre all the way into college, and she even got her Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Performance. Of course, knowing Tabitha at this point, she couldn’t go to school and get one degree. While in college, she became fascinated with not only the arts, but how they were regulated as well. Getting a degree as well in Politcal Science with a speciality in Arts Education, Tabitha learned about how little our education system values the arts. Just seeing how much the arts gave her such a rounded education, it pushed Tabitha to become an advocate in Washington DC working for non-profit organizations. Having an artistic outlet in theatre and music, gave Tabitha the freedom to explore her own self-confidence and what she values in this world.
After college, Tabitha knew she wanted to move to Los Angeles to pursue acting. She spent two years back home in Indiana working multiple jobs to save up enough money to make it to LA. In the process, she wanted to find an artistic outlet while being back home. Indiana isn’t exactly know for theatres or other arts in general. Being back home, she went back to her roots of reading After a late night with a college best friend, Tabitha started her own podcast about her favorite fantasy books.
